7 Dos and Donts of Affiliate Marketing
Do you want to create an affiliate marketing business or planning to set up one? Before you set up any business you should know depth of the business is and what are the best and worst practice for the business. Affiliate business is very niche business setup which requires dedication, focus, control and deep understanding of the market and target audience. But before you close and jump into conclusion and start with it I would like to share few quick tips and don’ts as per my experience.

    1. Product to be promoted:-

Do
Promote only those affiliate products which either you have tested by yourself or you are aware of every aspect of the product.

Don’t
Never promote which you don’t have experience with or you are not sure of repercussions of using it. Credibility is on stake when a product is has a negative feedback.

    2. Niche and the Affiliate Marketing:-

Do
Always remember the niche of your site and promote products which are of your niche. I recommend if you are finding a tough time in finding a product niche as yours wait for sometime.

Don’t
Niche is always remembered because if say for Eg. If you are a tech blogger and you start promoting a travel and hotel discounts. It is not a good impression to your readers and both reputation of you and your blog may go down. People who are visiting your site is for your technical knowledge and if they want discounts from travel they will go to some other website in that niche business.

    3. Titles and Free Offers

Do
Bring the Catchy titles for promotion and put in what extra you are offering aside to the regular cost and check recheck the promotional message if it is clear to the reader difference between normal and your offering.

Don’t
Never ever mis-communicate to the readers as it affects your future offers and a bad name to you as an affiliate marketer. Affiliate company can even ban you for misrepresentation of facts.

    4. Blind Propagation of Messages from Affiliate Companies

Do
Readers are looking for your insight in your language so please don’t blindly propagate the promotion content to readers.

Don’t
But here is a catch when we try to put in our style in the message sometimes the message itself gets unclear. Be very cautious in approach.

    5. Show Benefits to the readers of using the product

Do
Show the benefits to the readers in a way that it is not the only thing in this earth but is better than other 100 things on earth. Readers knows what to choose from the list.

Don’t
Do not pass impression that the life of readers will bring your reputation crashing down if they wont use the said product. Wrong strategy to market as it can give short gain but later bigger loss.

    6. Be Flexible in your approach

Do
Be open to ideas as you ask for comments and suggestions for your normal post you should also ask for feedback on affiliate products. This will create more reviews for your marketed product and hence more popularity to it, with raising voices of satisfied customer’s feedback.

Don’t
Don’t hesitate to change the things which are not working your experience might be different and if users are saying the product is not working. You should acknowledge and offer them alternate which reestablish trust in your advice.

    7. Experimenting with Promotional ideas

Do
Experiment sometimes with the promotional tools and ideas and don’t shy away with the things which you have never tried before. As these promotional tools could come handy even for your own website promotion.

Don’t
Experiment only with those products which are not working or they are paying less as compared to the promotion you did for the said product. Or I recommend to use the experiment with only high return programs which are not working. Because if they worked fine they could return in huge heaps and if they don’t work the life will be as usual.
