Aakash 2 tablet PC is the upgrade of the Aakash the first version of the world cheapest tablet from the British firm Datawind released on 05th October 2011. Manufactured in India by Quad in Hyderabad. It is a 7 inch Android based tablet. The cost of Aakash was Rs 2250 and the new tablet Aakash 2 is priced at Rs 2999.

Aakash Specifications:-


The first tablet  version was based on ARM 11 366 MHz based processor, RAM was 256 MB, 2100 mAh battery, Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, WiFi supportive, Phone facility was not available, Screen was Resistive, Appstore  was GetJar.

Aakash 2 Specifications:-

The Upgraded version of this Indian Tablet is based at ARM Cortex-A8 processor with 700 MHz, RAM not upgraded still at 256 MB RAM,  Battery backup which was major concern in the previous version seams now better with 3200 mAh, Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread, WIFI and GPRS supportive network hence Phone Call is now possible, the Google Android market Appstore. Internal memory is of 2GB and external memory of 2GB extendable to 32GB.

This tablet has given the iconic Indian IT another leap and hence reestablished the very fact that the cheap technological advancements are possible. The technology is not only for the rich and if not reachable to masses could not be justified as an innovation because every human being has right to use and get evolved by every human innovation.
