MNP Call Briefing

Mobile Number Portablity has brought in new complications in Routing calls for every Operator. Here the Operators have to query the MNP Database for Every call to look out for DIP or No DIP. Here DIP refers to Ported Number and No DIP means the call need to be routed as per the B Table. In case of DIP the Number needs to be routed with LRN and Routing Information by the HLR via STP. Whereas incase of no No DIP the number need to be routed by Routing Information by HLR to the destination MSC or Operator. Hence the routing is now complicated after the launch of MNP.
