The City of Lakes

In this Post I am taking you to a short visit to Bhopal- The city of lakes.

To start with Bhopal has an important place in Geographical Map of India as it is Heart of Heart of India (Madhya Pradesh). Famous Temples like Asia’s Biggest Shivling called BheemBethika and hanuman mandir of new market. This city also called as sister of shan-e-awadh Lucknow due to historical and cultural similarities between these cities.

Boating in upper lake and lower lake, Driving in marine drive and fresh air in evenings at shore of upper lake are attractions of this city. Lakes in Bhopal are man-made to fulfil drinking water needs of this landlocked city, with no nearby river and hard rock bed makes underground water out of reach and thus these artificial lakes are only source of drinking water for the city.

In Contemporary Times Bhopal has grown up as Educational Hub on Indian Map. Barkatullah University, Maulana Azad Institute of Science and Technology to name a few gives you a flavour of world class Indian Education system . With the growing figures of Competitive Educational Institutions it has a bright future ahead.

This city was developed on many plateaus and hard rock mountain and hence while driving on roads it would make you feel driving on hills and valleys with greenery all around. Connectivity with all state and national capitals of India via Indian Railways is another attractive feature of this place.

Hope you all had an Enjoying trip to Bhopal.
