Human Needs from Marketers Perspective

Human Needs, Desire the driving force of mankind for years.

What is need?
Need is the desire of a person as per his Socio-Financial stature which changes according to the level of his hierarchy.

I say it as hierarchy as it is an easy way to understand the concept and the meaning behind it.

A. Physiological Need:- this is the most basic requirement of a human being for 1-2 time food, water to drink, air to breath, shelter to beehive from sun, sand and rain and sex to fulfill his physical requirement. I keep it a Highest Priority.

B. Security Need:- After fulfilling the basic requirement the next immediate requirement is Protection from any mishap, order and stability to live a secured and safe  life, I keep the priority as High.

C. Social Need:- Third requirement which comes after securing the above two needs is Affection with closets & friendship and belonging to feel be the part of the society. Priority set to be medium.

D. Ego Need:- Being prestigious to make others jealous, high status to be a style icon and f ulfill the sense of self-esteem is the next requirement of mankind after the above three. Priority marker set to Low.


E. Self-Fulfillment:- Here after completion of all the above needs the mankind is sitting at the top of all needs and this need is not marked as need but the feeling of self-fulfillment a kind of filling in joy within the individual and hence complete the Hierarchy of needs. The priority set to Least.


What is the meaning of marking the Priority?
The prioritization is done to make understand the importance of every need which could be understood from the fact that the person with empty stomach will not need the best car on earth to travel.


Hence the marketers are not to be accused of creating needs but the needs are sitting in the people mind but the marketers only make people re-recognize them and hence look forward to fulfill them.
